“Hmm. What To Write”

Human body thinking in front of question mark

I don’t recall ever having such a tough time deciding what my next posting would be. This last week has felt as if my thoughts have been glued to one big question mark. What took place a few weeks ago gives the reason why; braking my collarbone. I know, not your average excuse.

Broken Collarbone 101

Last week I shared 8 things I learned after I fell during my routine run. That fall caused me to get a
broken collarbone. – Not. Fun. The most important thing I learned from that list was . . .

8– I am one who still sheds tears even though I know God has reasons for what He plans for me. He has reasons for planning that run I took. He has reasons for all this unpleasantness I’ve been experiencing this last week, with, sad to say, more weeks to come. I’m thankful I know that, but I also know tears are still there.

Now’s the time I share, it being two weeks since my fall, a word that’s been popping up in my mind a bit more than normal; a word that has helped me as those tears have shown.
Better yet – Divine Providence
My favorite way to word it – God’s Providence

Those two words have helped me hold a bit more peace as each day goes by.

I kind of feel like I did a little course at a community college. All that I’ve learned about my broken collarbone, be it from my discussions with doctors, or reading and watching oodles of information, (I love youtube) has sure helped. Even though I found out the bone’s break was a bit more damaged than was originally thought, with a surgery now planned, Romans 8:28 is still glued to my heart –  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

I’ve been thinking more how it is not only God our King who is ordering our lives, but God our Father. Oh, what peace! Those two other trials I’ve shared have solidified that fact to me, proving He loves His children infinitely. Remembering how God showed how He held me back then reminds me He’s holding me, and my collarbone, as I type.
Trial 1 and Trial 2

Let me encourage you all that divine providence is the governance of God. He holds you too. He’s carrying you through tougher than normal times you’re in. Even a simple fall to the ground you accidentally make, one that even leads you to needing surgery, is also planned. Not planned by fate, but planned my God. Yes, a tear may still be present, but tears with a bit more peace.

Romans 8:28 – We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. –
Note -I must add that ‘all things‘ means ALL things.

God never promised us this life would be easy, but He does promise this: He is bigger than any storm we face in this world. He’s always working for our good, even if He uses a simple routine run we take that He is with us, right in the midst of all things in life we through.

“Trials teach us what we are; they dig up the soil, and let us see what we are made of.”
“Prayer is the best armor against all trials.”
“A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor a man perfected without trials.”

I’d love to read about any trial you’ve endured; Ones where knowing God was holding you was felt.

8 Things a Broken Collarbone Has Taught Me

Woman walking on sidewalk, sport shoes close-up

Have you ever tripped over something? I bet you have. But have you ever tripped over something while on your routine run at 8 pm on a sunny Summer evening? Was that unexpected trip so fast that you didn’t even realize you fell until you were flat on the ground? Did you then get up as fast as you fell so that no one would notice what just happened? But wait, there’s more.

Two Answers to The Question ‘Why?’

Red question mark behind human body thinking

We all have our set of personal problems with which we must deal with. Why? Why have we all had moments in our live that have occurred that we wish had not? We wish the reasons for our harsh Whys did not exist.

Here, I’ll try to explain.

Happy – Song #27

Happy  – One simple word, yet one word that can mean so much. Quick, think of a few things that bring a smile to your face. You should be able to think of at least a few.

This should have been one of the first songs I shared. Why? The smiling face and I go hand-in-hand. Continue reading “Happy – Song #27”

God Knows What He’s Doing

I bet we all know people whose lives have been dramatically affected by health issues, a financial crisis, or marital/family problems. I also bet many of you can say you yourself have gone through major trials such as these.  The important thing to remember in the midst of each and every crisis is that God is in control.
