Faith : noun

1 – Confidence or trust in a person or thing.
2 – Belief that is not based on proof.
3 – Belief in God or in the doctrines of teachings of religion.
4 – What Marianne has learned is a necessity in life.

Time to make your own definition of Faith. How would you define it?

Let me explain how I made that 4th definition. My sky seemed to be falling a few times in past years and even now. The one that especially stood out was when I was only nineteen, going through an unplanned pregnancy, followed then a few years later by my one month stay at a hospital for a brain illness that occurred. And now, recovering from surgery I endured two months ago sure is no piece of cake, either. Whenever I hear this song, it words it perfectly how God was right there in the past, and is right here with me now, showing me He cares for me at all times, doing what’s best for me. This song helps describe more what I mean.

Sure, I felt my heart aching, starving for faith a little bit more all those years ago, but even now it’s tough when trials come my way. How He showed me years ago that He cared for me, But I didn’t give up. Even though that little speck of faith was hiding, it was still there.  Slowly, God was showing more of His presence thus causing my faith to slowly grow.

Whenever I felt the cloud falling, and falling hard, God lets me know there is still that sun behind it.

So if you feel your sky is falling, thinking that it’s all more than you can take, have faith. Cling instead to the one that can help you through any storm. You may not feel that instant help you hope for. You may not feel that obvious sign He’s there. But remembering He is, in His own way right there, you’ll feel a bit more peace because, as the song says, that’s what faith can do.
