Do you know what a memoir is? Yes, it has something to do with the word memory, but it’s what someone does with a memory that turns it into a memoir. It’s an account of one’s personal life and experiences usually shared in reading form.
Some could say it’s a different type of autobiography being its usually from the person who shares, not all, but a certain experience of their life.
Why do I bring this up? To show you, after sharing in my last posting, how my book got its title, what got me to even share my story.
“Marianne, you should write a book of what you went through with your unplanned pregnancy,” I heard over and over again for years. Some even suggested I talk with a few people they knew who might benefit from my story.
Me? Write a book about my life changing soap opera?
“But, I’m not an author. I’m too busy with my family, plus my brain illness I had years ago would make it impossible.” Those were my three common excuses why ‘no’ was my response.
What got me to finally put together God and My Pillow I’ve shared in a past post, showing what triggered my hand to start holding a pen.
It explains how good old fashion email led me to getting my experience on paper.
Can you think of that big ordeal in your past that you had to endure? Can you think of a time you felt like giving up, wishing you could wake up realizing it was just an agonizing dream? Many who have read my book thanked me, telling me it had them thinking about trials they endured in their past, reminding them how much God had carried them through their tough times as well.
What about now? Are you currently going through a tougher than normal time? Keep reading and see if these words below can encourage you, showing you, as He sure showed me, what His love can do.
Love can surely rescue
A heart in deep despair,
A heart that has given up
And no longer feels God near
Love can breathe new meaning
When there’s nothing left inside,
When there’s no feeling or emotion
Just dryness in our lives
Love can restore new hope
After it’s withered and died,
For hope is what will get us through
And love can be its guide
Love can run and embrace
The prodigal returning home
And the one that has come to the end,
Those hurting, lost and alone
For God’s love is the answer
To our broken, empty lives,
As we come with an open heart,
He can dispel all the hurt inside
And He will heal our brokenness
And lovingly, He will bind
The wounds that have left us scarred
And bring soundness to our minds
So give it over to God’s love,
Our lives, and all that we are
Then we will know and walk in His love,
For His love shall dwell in our hearts.
